He was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi as well as Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. His law practice began in Miami 1949. In 1969 the firm of Chern and Sevin was established with his cherished friend and partner Norman M. Sevin. Marshall was recognized by The Florida Bar for his distinguished and honorable service for 51 years to the public and the legal profession. Marshall was an athlete all his life, running track in high school, playing basketball and baseball in his youth and as an avid tennis player until his demise. A memorial service will be held at a later date. To visit this Guest Book Online, go to www.herald.com/obituaries.

Dear Lil and Family: My thoughts are with you, and I send my condolences to you. If Esther were here, you know how sad this would be for her to learn of Marshall's passing. She always loved you and Marshall, and always spoke of you with such warmth. I remember you both coming over to Esther's to say hello to me and the girls. We all are very sad. Much love, Sally
