Max Hinson Obituary

Max Amos Hinson
LANCASTER -- Mr. Hinson, age 70, of 458 Belk Street, died Tuesday morning, September 7, 2004 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1934 in Lancaster County, the son of Pauline Sims Hinson and the late Amos Hinson and was the husband of Polly Neal Hinson. Mr. Hinson was employed by the City of Lancaster as the Building and Grounds Director, was a Mason with Jackson Masonic Lodge #53, a member of the American Legion, a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, and a Retired E-6 Tech Sergeant of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Hinson is survived by his mother, Pauline Sims Hinson of Lancaster; his wife Polly Neal Hinson of the home; a daughter, Kimberly Hinson Carter and husband Wendell of Lancaster; 1 brother, Ben Hinson and his wife Bonnie of Lancaster; 1 sister, Nancy Hinson Blackmon and her husband Ben of Lancaster; and 2 grandchildren, Creighton and Christian Carter.
Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by a son, Max Allison Hinson and a daughter, Deborah Lynn Hinson.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Hinson will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday afternoon, September 9, 2004 at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church by Rev. Rick Hunter. Burial with full military honors will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family of Mr. Hinson will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, September 8, 2004 at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, Building and Grounds Fund, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
