What a shock to learn of my very good Presbyterian College buddy had died. We only saw each other at the PC football games.each year, sitting only a few seats apart. You would have thought we were still in college the way we talked back and forth.- talking about how old the other was getting. I have only known about this a few minutes and I already miss him. To his family-- I am not telling you any thing you don't know already but Max was great person in many ways. My thoughts and prayers are with you today.

Max and my Dad (Jack Herndon) were great friends when Max moved back to Grover. They both grew up there and had much in common. Thoughts and prayers to all the family.

Rest in Peace Max. You was always such a gentleman. Thanks for your friendship over the years. You will be greatly missed in the Hot Rod world. You had so many friends from coast to coast.

We were saddened to learn of Mac's passing. I had the pleasure of spending many happy fun filled times with Max and Robert Roper talking and brain storming HOT RODS, Max loved his cars and loved to talk cars. Another Rodder gone, he shall be missed

Unfortunately, I never got to know Max that well but was a colleague at BellSouth for 10 years. I have had the pleasure of socializing with Max at numerous Christmas luncheons for past and present BellSouth employees which I have enjoyed. Everyone liked Max and he will be missed. My sympathies go out to his family.
