Ruth Dellinger Obituary

STANLEY -- Ruth McLean Dellinger, 91, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002. She was born January 25, 1911 in Central, SC, daughter of the late Charles Lee and Rosa Johnson McLean. She was preceded in death by her husband E. Stewart Dellinger, and two sisters, Hope M. Burnett of Marshall, NC, and Lace M. Howell of Richmond, VA.
Mrs. Dellinger was a graduate of Southeastern Business College in Seneca, SC, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Stanley, NC. She was a volunteer for many years with the American Red Cross in Gaston County.
She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary D. and Charles L. Easton of Oxford, NC, Judith D. Johnson, Ibby D. and Gene A. Miller, all of Stanley; a sister, Evelyn M. Wilson of Burnsville, NC; seven grandchildren, Stewart Cameron Easton and Charles L. Easton, Jr. of Hilton Head, SC, Landis E. Ackerman of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Elizabeth E. Richardson of Oxford, NC, Kelly J. Gresham of Stanley, John Chandler Miller and Mary Brooks Miller, both of Stanley; 12 great grandchildren; and 4 nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2002 in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mt. Holly, with the Reverend Bill R. Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gaston County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 190 South Oakland Street, Gastonia, NC 28052.
