I knew Father Konrad at Calvary Church, Syracuse, NY. I served as altar boy from about 1962 - 1966, when Father Konrad was the Priest.
He was at Calvary Church when it burnt down in 1963. He managed the rebuilding of the church.
In the summers, he'd take us boys on camping/canoe trips to the Fulton Chain of Lakes, in the Adirondack Mts. He was fun to be with, and had a great sense of humor. He had some great jokes.

I knew Father Konrad at Grace Church in White Plains, NY. He helped me when I was going through a time of trouble. He was a real human being.

Dear Konrad Family,
This world has lost one of the really good ones. Wes had an amazing capacity to listen - and to truly hear - not only what we were saying but the things we wished we could say. He had an amazing grasp of the dynamics of families and the ability to help us look at ourselves differently. Wes also helped us gain perspective - particularly in dealing with family.
We are grateful for the "accidental" meeting that made Wes a part of our lives and are appreciative of the time we shared. Wes has been a mentor to me for the past six or seven years and I am most grateful to our good Lord for making our paths cross.
Wes' passing during Veterans Day celebrations makes us appreciate him even more because of the wisdom and courage he showed. He helped keep our country strong. Thanks to Wes and his generation, the USA is still going strong.
The peaches will continue to come.
With much love to all of you in this difficult time. God bless you all. We
will stay in touch.

This is convey our condolences to the family of father Wesley Konrad. I met father Konrad in 1982 when I moved to St. Croix from Antigua. He was the Rector of the St. Paul's Episcopalian Church in Fredericksted, where my father (Clovelle Philip) and step mother (Mary Philip) were both members. I have kept up with the moves of the Konrad family through Derrick Tatem, my long time friend and mutual "Best Man". Father Konrad had a profound impact on the life of Derrick and the effect of that impact still radiates to everyone with whom Derrick interacts. Father Konrad served as a father figure to Derrick who always gives him credit for showing him the path to the christian life, secondary school and subsequently college.
The life of Father Konrad was exemplified by Mathew 5:16," Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
I join the Konrad family in celebrating the life and legacy of Father Konrad. Be assured that his light continues to shine in all of us who had the opportunity meet and interact with this great son of God.
May he enjoy eternal peace.

I have told you many times before, Grandpa, that you were the hippest 88-year old Grandfather I knew and the only one I knew with a Facebook account. I, like so many others, have a lifetime of memories and stories to attest to what an honorable, noble, courageous, fun-loving, charismatic individual you were, and your infectious laugh will be with me forever. You were the backbone of this crazy Konrad Clan, and I am, without reservation, honored to be a member of this family. I know you are in a peaceful, beautiful place, but my life here will never quite be the same without your guidance, wisdom, sense of humor and everlasting love. I wish I could be there for your final farewell party, but you know that I will be there in spirit. I look forward to the day when we will be together again. I love you more than words can say, Grandpa. You are my hero.
Love, your second oldest grandchild, Rachel Anne
