William Dietz Obituary
A resident of Indian River since, 1990, moving from Shelby Township, Bill was born on Feb. 8, 1923 in Detroit, the son of William C. and Clarice (Barlow) Dietz.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, serving in Africa, Italy, France, and Germany, and received his honorable discharge with three bronze stars.
He was a tool and die maker employed by the Chrysler Automobile Company in Warren for 18 years, retiring in 1987.
Bill also enjoyed woodworking, home construction, fishing, hunting, golfing and was a member of the Indian River Baptist Church.
He was the loving husband and father survived by his wife, "Connie;" his four children, Richard (Bobbi) Dietz, William (Mary) Dietz Jr., and Deborah (John) Klank, all of Shelby Township, and Don (Jeri) Dietz of Lake Orion; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Anna Curtis and a brother, Bob Dietz.
Visitation will be held on today, Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, from 4-8 p.m., at the Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 at 11 a.m., with the family greeting friends beginning at 10 a.m., at the Indian River Baptist Church. Pastor Jeffrey Halsted and Pastor Jeff Gwilt will officiate, burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Indian River.
Memorials may be made to the Indian River Baptist Church, Indian River, Mich.
