Betty Beaver

1938 - 2024

Betty Clonts Beaver, 85, of Murphy, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at the home of her son.
She was a native of Cherokee County. Betty was a 1956 graduate of Murphy High School and a graduate of Massey Business College in Atlanta, Ga.
She worked briefly in Atlanta before marrying Andy Beaver of the Owl Creek Community in Murphy and assumed the role of a military wife traveling to many different places including four years in England. She made a true home for her family at each military base they were assigned.
Betty was a member of Ranger Baptist Church and an active member of the WMU as long as her health permitted, but recently was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Culberson.
She was the daughter of the late Roy Patton and Mary Lee Cook Clonts. Betty was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Patton Beaver; a grandson, Ethan Mills; two sisters, Yonah Haynes and a twin sister, Dorothy Clonts; and two brothers, Carroll Clonts and a twin brother who died at birth.
Surviving are her son, Wayne Beaver and wife Candy of Nebo, N.C.; a daughter, Teresa Mills and husband Jeff of Canton, N.C.; a brother, Mack Clonts of Lawrenceville, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Tiffany Beaver, McBryde Cameron, William Mills, Adrinne Beaver, Braxton Beaver, Holder Mills and Ivy Jagt; and four great-grandchildren, Baker Mills, Shep Mills, Amos Jagt, Leandro Abarquez Lima, and two on the way.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, with the Rev. Ronny Crisp officiating. The inurnment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:50 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy, prior to the service.
