Annelyle Turner Obituary

Annelyle Turner, age 62, died peacefully Sunday, June 25, 2006. Despite multiple difficulties resulting from tuberculosis meningitis at age 6 that left her permanently deaf, she led an active life and maintained her good spirits. She graduated from Evanston Township High School and attended Harper Junior College and Gallaudet University. She worked as a dog groomer until her disabilities made this impossible. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Blair and Margaret Turner of Silver Spring, MD, and David and Carol Turner of Portland, OR; niece Katherine T. Brooks of Seattle, WA, and nephew Daniel Turner-Gillespie, Portland, OR; and her good friend Sue Wallquist. Caregivers Donna Lukaszowicz and Eva Banasik were her constant companions who gave their companionship and made her life easier with their care. Services will be held at Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church, 1330 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on Friday, July 14, 2006, at 11 a.m. Remembrances may be sent to Orphans of the Storm, 2200 Riverwoods Rd., Riverwoods (Deerfield) IL 60015, and the Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church.

Annelyle was our volunteer at Glenbrook Hospital. I will always remember her great sense of humor and her love for her animals. I am truly sorry for your loss. I am sure she is in a wonderful place now.

Although I know that Annelyle is with the Lord, not needing an interpreter anymore and listening to the most glorious concert of all, I will miss her. It was a joy to interpret for her the many times I did at church and during the concerts.

Annelyle was a family friend of my parents and when I was young we spent time visting with her and she always had many jokes to share with us and will be missed. I am sorry for the loss to her family and wish her a peaceful journey.
