David Matson Obituary

On July 23, 1943, a bright-eyed little boy brought joy to parents Marvin and Eleanore Matson and they named him David R. Matson. He lived a life of wonderous curiosity that served him well as a teacher for the Chicago Board of Education and as an Educational Liaison for Lydia Home - ministering in Christ's love. He went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2020.

Born and raised in Chicago, he was constantly reading and sharing with people around him. A lifelong student, he earned his BS, MA, and MRE degrees.

Devoted to Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, David walked out his faith serving at Moody Church.

David R. Matson, age 77, beloved husband to Iola Matson; loving brother to Diane (Dan) Lenzen; gracious father to Kristina (Bryan) Lantis, Angella Preston; and adored grandfather to Joshua Lantis, Alex, Anna and Amy Preston.
