I met Dave at Bass Pro Shops in Cary, North Carolina in July of 2014. We were working in the footwear department as our second job. Dave and I spent a lot of time together selling shoes. I got to know a lot about him and his wonderful family. He told me about his daughters and how much he loved them. He loved his family so much. Every time we talked, he always talked about a member of his family or daughters. I left Bass Pro in August of 2015, but our friendship did not end there. He and I became close friends when he moved to and losing Dave is a huge void. I will miss his laugh and sense of humor. He was very intelligent and he made you feel special just talking and/or being around him. His deep love and passion for sports was infectious. He got to see his Cubbies win the World Series in 2016. Chicago Sports were just plain huge for him. I want to send my deepest sympathies to his family as they go through this difficult time. Dave Shepherd, you will always be a close friend and I know you never be too far away!
