Diana Lampsa Obituary

Diana J. Lampsa M.D. age 66 of Palmyra, WI, Madison, WI, Two Rivers, WI, Chicago, IL, and Tucson, AZ, left her earthly home to be with God on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. She was a passenger in taxi that was involved in a tragic crash while returning home from a play at the Goodman Theatre downtown Chicago. Diana was born October 31, 1951 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Edward and Betty (Hooper) Lampsa. She graduated from Palmyra High School in 1969, and continued her education graduating from the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health in 1985. As a psychiatrist, she dedicated her life to helping others, spending most of her professional life at the Great Lakes Psychiatric Care Center in Manitowoc of which she founded, owned and operated. She also practiced in Prescott, AZ. She was a gifted musician, writer, poet, and performer, both a pianist and guitarist, and a student of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. She was deeply spiritual, and lived a life dedicated to kindness, compassion, healing, and well being. Diana was impulsive, with a heart of gold and lit up any room she entered. Her infectious personality and love of life will be missed by all. Diana is survived by her father Edward of Palmyra, brothers Roy(Tamara) of Florence, AZ and John(Ursula) of Wales, WI, fiance Kevin Serr of Chicago, nieces Nicole of San Francisco, Shannon of Indianapolis, Lana of Wales, nephew Evan of Wales. She was preceded in death by her mother. Diana was a devoted Christian who loved her Church family and Sunday night gatherings. She had a love of angels, an angel to many, and will forever be an angel. Visitation will be held at the Palmyra United Methodist Church 122 N. 5th St. Palmyra, WI on Friday, June 29th from 5-8pm and on Saturday June 30th from 9:30am until the time of service at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Palmyra United Methodist church. www.Haaselockwoodfhs.com.

I was saddened to hear about Diana's sudden passing. To Roy, my Palmyra High School classmate and Ed, I express my sympathy for your loss. Diana left a positive influence on me as I was a year behind her in school. I am saddened that our paths didn't meet again. I read in an earlier message that Diana loved music and took classes at Chicago's Old Town School of Music. I took a class there in the fall. It would have been fantastic to have met up with her there! I am thankful that I had her to look up to during high school. I know her beautiful spirit will live on. -Nancy (Reich) Christiansen

Diana was so full of life and spirit. I had the pleasure of partnering with her and providing hope and care to psychiatric patients. Also during our time together we would talk about our love of music and playing instruments. She provided joy to so many and I know that she is resting in peace. May your spirit continue to live on Diana. You will be missed.

With deep sadness I say Rest In Peace, to a lovely, caring woman, Diana Lampsa. She exhuded kindness and sincerity, naturally earning ones trust and commitment. Such a sad and senseless death. She will be greatly missed.

Last BHMP meeting she was at several months ago

Diana touched my life and so many others. Her laugh and smile brought joy to us all. I learned so much from her and will miss her dearly. We shared dreams and visions of how we could help more people together one day. I love you Diana and know you are singing and playing music with the Angels among lavender fields surrounded by the violet purple light of Spirit!!

My husband and I took voice lessons with Diana at the Old Town School of Folk Music and were able to sing with her on stage during a recital. We also would gather by her piano and practice at her Chicago apartment. She will be sorely missed. The angels have a new addition to the choir.
