E. PATRICK O'BRIEN

E. Patrick "Pat" O'Brien (1931-2013), passed on Feb. 27th, peacefully, in Long Grove, after a long illness. Father of Pat (Lori), Mike and Sean; proud grandfather to Jonathon and Natalie, who visited regularly with various pets (pooches), to his delight. Pat grew up on Vine Avenue in Park Ridge, attended St. Mel's his freshman year, then moved Maine East where he played baseball, football and was a swimmer. Pat continued on to his "beloved" home of the Wildcats, Northwestern University, where he pursued a degree in s peech c ommunications while participating in varsity football. Pat was a honorary Deru Member and a Sigma Chi. Pat was the best guy to know in Chicago apart from the mayor, and if you were one of his close cohorts, you saw it firsthand. He was no stranger to Division St. and shared an apartment on State St., with friends from NU in the early 50s. He was lucky to meet and marry, Janet Reinhard (O'Brien Mawicke), in 1963, and moved to Northbrook to raise his family. Pat worked for White Way Sign Co, and HTO Real Estate as a Broker and VP. He was a member of (SIOR) Pat retired from the industrial real estate business after 30 years in 2000. Mr. O'Brien was preceded in death by his parents, John V. and Annette (O'Connell); his brothers, John V., Tom and Kevin; and sister, Roseanne. Memorial Mass March 20, 2013, 10:30 a.m., at St. Norbert's, Northbrook, IL. No flowers please.
