Harry Linde Obituary

Harry Wight Linde, 87, of St. Petersburg, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Kindred Hospital. Born in Woodbridge, New Jersey, he graduated from Tufts College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Class of 1950. He received his Ph.D. from MIT, Class of 1953. He was a US Navy veteran having served in WWII. He was Professor Emeritus of Northwestern University where he was the Associate Dean for the Honors Medical Program and Professor of Anesthesiology at Medical School for 25 years. He was a fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was a fifty year member of the American Chemical Society. He is survived by wife of 56 years, Myra D. Linde; his son, Brian P. (Kate) Linde of St. Petersburg; his daughter, Carolyn E. (Ken) Johnson of Reading, MA; and nine grandchildren. In lieu flowers, the family prefers donations be made in his memory to the Harry W. Linde Honors Program Fellowship at Northwestern University. I knew Harry from my residency in anesthesia (1970's) and had interactions with him sfter. He was a gentile compassionate man who had much to do with the founding of the Anesthesia department of Northwestern University. (he was one of the founding 5)

I NEVER KNEW HARRY WIGHT LINDE , BUT MY DAD'S LAST NAME IS WIGHT ( JAMES S. ) AND HE WAS BORN IN WOODBRIDGE NEW JERSEY IN 1931. HE HAD AN " UNCLE HARRY " WHO DIED BACK IN THE 60'S .COULD WE BE RELATED ? ALWAYS HEARD WE HAD FAMILY IN FLA. GOD REST HIS SOUL AND MAY HE REST IN PEACE WITH THE LORD .
