Joseph Beranek, age 88, beloved husband of the late Rosemary, nee Ledone, loving father of Sherry (Joe) Palmer, Marion (Al) Henriksen, Steven (Madeline) Beranek, Paul (Anne) Beranek, David (Ruth) Beranek, Laura (Victor) Rode, Sheila (Pat) Chantos, Tina Beranek and Joe (Beth) Beranek; proud grandfather of Megan (Jeremy) Molnar, Rachel (Dave) Wake, Hannah (Courtney) Jarmillo, Jake Henriksen, Lizzie, Carl and Rosie Beranek, Samantha (Michael) Minasola, Matthew, Andrew and Timothy Beranek, Allison (Eli) Woodbeck, Michelle, Barry, Tony and Renee Beranek, Jessica (Tim) Hogan, Margaret (Tom) Ravenscroft, Phillip (Monica) Rode, Nicole, Ben and Grace Chantos, Alex and Lauren Pate and Evan, Gabby, Halle and Izak Beranek; cherished great-grandfather of Colt, Nevada, Jacob, Braeden, Iris, Sienna and Lennon. Visitation Sunday, 3:00 p.m. until time 8:00 p.m. and Monday, 8:00 a.m. until time of funeral 9:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment Private. To the Beranek family -
I'm very sorry to hear of your father's passing. It's kind of a funny story as to how I knew him. My mom came to live with me in Elmhurst after a heart attack in her early 80s. I would take her to Mass at IC, and she would recognize your dad there. She met him in the cardiac rehab at Elmhurst Hospital. She didn't know anyone at church so she would always feel happy to see Joe's familiar face, that he would say hello, and she was impressed that he was so involved in the Mass. Years later, she noticed that we didn't see him anymore and wondered where he had gone, so much so that we asked around a bit. My mom passed away in August at age 94. I almost picked up the phone to tell her about Joe's obituary, but I guess they'll be saying hello on the other side. I was also surprised to see that Joe's daughter was my daughter, Grace's, cherished second grade teacher, Mrs. Chantos - Grace is 27 now! Our sincerest sympathies to your family. A very simple thing, but your dad made my mom smile, which I very much appreciated.

So sorry to hear about Mr.Beranek. It was always so great to see him at all of our past "Spikes" golf outings and see him at House of Glass keeping an eye on things for Steve. My sincere condolences to the entire Beranek Family. May He Rest in Peace.
