Maureen Brookman Obituary

Maureen A. Brookman, of Chicago, died of complications from the West Nile Virus on November 4, 2003. She is the beloved wife of Robert K. Brookman; mother of David Singer (Eva Yusa), Jonathan Singer (Alice) and Lucien Singer; stepmother to Robert K. Brookman Jr. (Kristin Tomey), Molly Perotto (Eric) and Matthew Brookman; and sister of R. Peter Sullivan III, Sheila Sullivan, Karen Sullivan and Kevin Sullivan. As the Director of the T.V. and Film division of Stewart Talent Management, Inc., Mrs. Brookman passionately promoted the careers of actors and actresses represented by her, in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. Many of her actors went on to highly successful movie, television or stage careers, thanks, in no small part, to her impeccable eye for emerging talent, her knowledge of the entertainment industry, her wide-spread contacts within the industry and her negotiation skills. As a consummate multi-tasker, Mrs. Brookman managed her career and cared for her friends and her beloved family with unmatched skill, grace, humor and class. Funeral and Burial Services for immediate family and New York friends will take place in Southampton, New York on Friday, November 7. A service celebrating Maureen's life will be held in Chicago at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 10 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1037 W. Armitage Ave., Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to The Actors Fund, 729 Seventh Avenue, New York, New York 10019.
