Mike was my lunch time friend at the Glass Courts and Health track for a number of years. I had the opportunity to take long runs with and learn all about his family and work.I loved him for all the reasons others have already mentioned. He was great person, and it only took a couple of conversations with him to figure this out. I don't meet many people like Mike, and consider it a blessing that I had. My deepest symapathies go out to all Mike's loved ones.

I just learned of Mike's passing. I am very sorry for your loss. I only got to spend a brief time with him during business school but I enjoyed every minute our time together. He was a rare individual and I loved his sense of humor. The world is a lot less interesting without him in it.

We were both shocked to hear of Mike's illness and passing. We had no idea. We have fond memories of our Dunn Geoscience days, your house on Western Avenue, etc. I seem to also recall some kind of mishap with you two drywalling a ceiling. I worked with Mike at the start of his career when we were young geologists at Dunn Geoscience. Even as a young man, he had deep expertise, but was humble and fun to talk with about many topics. I am saddened to see the news. Please accept my thoughts and prayers.

It was my privilege and pleasure to know Mike. I enjoyed his friendship especially his calm demeanor and quirky nature. It is tragic that he is gone so early; he was so brave in his ALS fight. I'm glad that he and Nancy stopped off in Boulder last May on their trip West so that I could see him again. A mark of a person is the memories that others retain and Mike left plenty of good ones. Our sympathies to Nancy and the girls, and to Mike's extended family.

I am so saddened by the loss of one of my funniest clients. When I first started cutting Mikes hair he used to say ouch ouch when I would use my blending scissors. I thought he was actually serious, until it became quite the routine. And he always wanted me to triple check that his sideburns were even with his glasses.. He would crack me up. What a class act. I cut his hair the Sat. before his passing with his beautiful wife Nancy, and I am very grateful that I got to see him. May you be forever at peace now Mike, and the struggling you were enduring melt away. God Bless your soul, and Nancy, Ali and Liz at this sad time. You will be missed.
