Dad was the most amazing dad i could have ever wished for! My best memory with him was singing and dancing on the pontoon to shania twain. No one can ever replace him. He was a great Dad, Friend, and Role model!

My condolences to all. We used to live down the street from the O'Driscolls, when they all lived in a single flat on Irving Park Rd - we lived at 6226. They moved to a house further away but not too far; as usually happens we didn't stay in touch. That was around the summer of 1972. I loved playing with cars and he was always nice to me - even though I was 3 years younger (a huge differnce when I was 5 and he was 8!)Pat was my first good friend, and although I had not seen him in almost 40 years I had wondered what he was up to. He grew up to be not a good but a GREAT man! God's speed Pat - my first good friend.

Dear Beth, Fin(bar!) and Maura, you all know better than any of us what a wonderful, loving man Pat was. You sure don't need me to tell you. But I want to remind you now what a larger-than-life, fun and funny character he was. I can honestly say I will miss him for the rest of my life, as I know you all will too. He made me laugh so hard I couldn't stand it. Truly, some of my deepest belly laughs in a long life of belly laughs came from Pat. Not sure I'll ever laugh quite that way again, but I know I'll spend forever smiling when I think of him. I hope you know you can all count on me for a memory and a shared laugh. I loved your husband/dad very much.

I was blessed with knowing Pat O'Driscoll for 25 years. Full of life....an immediate presence in a room...... quick with a smile, always a laugh, an outstanding lawyer, and always a happy, loving comment about Beth, Finn, and Maura....
Humble. ....it's a directive we're given in the bible ,and Pat was certainly that. In all the years of knowing & working with him as the real estate lawyer for so many of my clients.........I knew of his other good works..but never how expansive it was.I am blown away with how much he squeezed into his very short life.
Many of my experiences with Pat were through business. He was the family lawyer, and as a family Realtor I'd recommend him to my other clients...Well, they all thought he was just the greatest! We'd sit at closings, and he'd mention the troopers or the teamsters, and the rovers, but I never understood the magnitude of what he was saying...the depth to which he was involved with all different arenas. I am in awe of Pat.. Who he was, how many lives he touched, and always , always in such a very positive fashion. It is truly hard to express in words just how much he will be missed.

Man, did Uncle Pat have a way of lighting up the room! EVERYTHING was better when he was around. He was one of those people that always, always had a smile on his face. I'll miss his infectious laugh, his inappropriate jokes, spending every weekend at Como, jamming to Shania Twain, Euchre, Black Friday shopping, St. Patrick's Day downtown, Christmas Eve Fish Frying, and so much more. Uncle Pat's incomparable love of Aunt Beth, Fin, and Maura was so wonderful to see. He loved you all more than anything. He loved his life, his family (Ceisels and O'Driscolls alike), and his friends. What an honor it was to have Uncle Pat in our lives and he will be dearly missed every day-he already is. I love you, Uncle Pat. Until we meet again...

I can only smile as I reflect upon the many fond memories I have with Uncle Pat. My favorite stories, and many others', take place at Lake Como, where Pat entertained countless family and friends. Pat had a way of lighting up the room and making everyone smile. I enjoyed the time I spent with him; it was impossible not to. He has much to be proud of in his family and of his legacy, Fintan and Maura. What a great family! Like others have said, Uncle Pat was “larger than life”. He will be missed, and I am blessed to have had him as an Uncle.

Beth, Fin, and Maura, words cannot express how deeply saddened I am about the death of Pat. I have read many of the messages from your friends and relatives. I have read about his work, his hobbies, and his friendships. I knew Pat mainly in the role of husband and father. What I can tell you is that he adored you Beth. You were blessed to have a husband, confidant, and best friend. Pat always beamed when he spoke of you and you would laugh in return. Fin and Maura, he loved you both so very much. No matter how busy he was, he took the time to be with you and enjoy life with you. You were able to spend time with a dad who truly wanted to “play” with you. You were a blessing in his life. I will always miss your dad, he made me laugh.

Love,
Katy

It amazes me as I consider the many ways Pat touched so many lives...
... Someone else is going to have to keep score in Euchre.
... Al & I will be losing weight without the grill master ;)
... Como is going to be much quieter without Pat's booming laugh.

You may have moved on but will not forgotten.

Pat was a man that nobody can replace! He was “larger than life.” Pat lived his life to the fullest, without a doubt. He was well loved, as evidenced by the CROWDS at his funeral. I have never experienced a more beautiful, moving, well attended, heartfelt, prideful and honorary funeral! In honor of Pat, it was a beautiful, sunny day!

Pat was the type of person you just could not get enough of. When Pat walked into a room, the energy in the room changed, for the better. He brought “life” to our family gatherings, playing games and cards all night. He was constantly entertaining friends and family at Lake Como - an open invitation. Pat always had a joke to tell and made everyone laugh, how appropriate the nickname Captain Fun. He had lots to say!

Even though he was a successful state policeman and attorney, Pat's most important accomplishment was his family! Pat loved them very much and everyone knew it! Beth and Pat had a fabulous marriage. He worked hard so his children could play. Pat was extremely proud of his children, Fintan and Maura. He dreamt big and wanted his children to grow up wise, fun-loving, generous, educated, respectful, faith-filled, self-motivated, enthusiastic and hard working.

Pat was focused and fueled by the need to be his own man, which he admirably accomplished during his lifetime. He was always ready to lend a hand or give advice to family and friends. Everybody looked to Pat for advice and expertise.

Pat is in Heaven now! Death is, after all, only the side of life that we cannot see from earth's shores. Our souls will unite for an eternity together in Heaven. Pat, you will always be remembered and live in our hearts forever!

September 24, 2012

Dear Beth, Fin, Maura, Mom, family and friends.
What can I say... Our hearts are broken...So let's try to life our life alittle more like Pat. LIVE life alittle fuller. LAUGH until our belly hurts and LOVE unconditionally.
Let's all go out and have that HAPPY, WONDERFUL SUNNY DAY.
Love...your favorite sister..
Mary Pat:)

Uncle Pat was one of the most light-hearted and carefree people I have ever known. He was an inspiration to live every day to the fullest. He had a crazy sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. I remember completely insulting my parents when I said I like uncle Pat's steaks more than their's. His spirit lives on Fin and Maura- you can already see that. Fin with his kindhearted nature and Maura with her free spirit. He has touched so many people and will always be loved, remembered, and missed dearly.

I still think about him and his family everyday. He was deeply loved, and will be forever missed. He was a wonderful uncle, amazing father, and a loving caring husband. He had such a charismatic attitude towards life that was contagious. I remember how he could always make the whole room laugh. He will forever live in our hearts.

Dear Aunt Beth, Fin, and Maura,

We had so many fun times with the family at Niles and at Como. Uncle Pat worked so hard and brought so much laughter and happiness to our family and nothing will be the same without him. I hope to live my life following Uncle's Pat example: working my hardest but even more importantly, spending time having fun and laughing with the people I love. I will miss Uncle Pat -- a truly great Uncle, father, husband, friend. I love you guys so much and I know Uncle Pat is watching over you.

Beth, Fin, and Maura,
What a wonderful wonderful man! I am so blessed to have known him and am thankful for all of our memories. The ceremony was a well deserved tribute filled with honor. Absolutely "larger than life"! It also told the story of the kind of person Uncle Pat was; caring, funny, helpful, dedicated, and protective. He touched so many lives in his short life. I continue to pray for all of the family and friends who will have to continue without him, especially the three of you. Just as we know he will always be watching over you, we will always be here for you. A phone call or plane ride away! We love you dearly!

Beth, Fintan and Maura,
The loss of Pat breaks our hearts. He was such a great guy. We especially feel for your loss. We hope that, over time, you can take some comfort in the impressive outpouring of love and respect that his passing has produced. It truly is something for you to be proud of and says volumes about the person he was.
We have had some really great times with Beth and Pat over the years. We will always remember Pat's hearty laugh. It makes us smile to think of it. There are so many happy memories that we have and will cherish.
Please know that we are here to support you. With love,

He was the one of best uncles I have ever had in my whole entire life. Every time I went to Lake Como with him and stay at his house and when I would get up in the morning we would have cereal (like usual) then when lunch came we would make pizza and have a great time... I truly had a great time with him now I will miss him forever ;(

September 15, 2012

I extend my deepest sympathy to you Beth, Fin and Maur and to our family.
Pat was such a wonderful person and a great father, the best husband, and brother, brother-in-law and an awesome uncle and an amazing son. He was always willing to help others and asked for nothing in return.
I will always remember Pat for his good nature and great sense of humor. He was truly a joy to know and I feel fortunate and honor to say Pat was my brother-in-law.
I witnessed first hand how good he was to you and your family and to everyone else as well. The world would be a better place if there were more people like him.
I'm sure that he would want all of us to celebrate the good life that he had. We can all be thankful that we had him in our lives and continue to remember him as the great guy that he was.
Please know that Sean and I will be here for you now and in the future. Let us know anything that we can do.
Our faith is so important at a time like this. Things seem so hopeless and out of control, however, we know that with God's help we will make it through this difficult time.
I am praying that God will give you the hope and strength you need.
Pat lived a faith-filled life and was an inspiration to all of us who knew him. I feel so blessed to have known him and to have him as my brother-in-law.
The days ahead will be difficult without him, but we must use our faith to give us strength and hope. I pray that God will comfort you and keep you in His embrace.
God Bless.
In Faith & Hope,
Love, Donna

Patrick was my real estate lawyer since 1990 and boy, was he good. We had to sell our house this summer at quite a loss and he was the difference between manageable loss and losing our shirts. Every phone call with him started seriously but always ended up joking and laughing about the situation. He made a really stressful time a whole lot better. I can't believe he's gone; I can only imagine the sorrow of Beth and the kids, and the whole O'Driscoll family. You are all in our prayers. With deepest sympathy,
