Sy sold me my first higher end audio system from stereo trend in 1971. I knew him at musicraft after that and finally at ABT. Always helpful and informed. Always felt comfortable dealing with him. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Knew Sy since 1969. Worked for him in '70 and '71. Always referred as the "Stereo Maven" from Chicago. Before his own stores of "Stereo Trend" in Des Plaines and Arlington Heights, he was the trouble shooting store manager for Allied Radio. Whenever there was a store in trouble, they would send Sy. He considered it a bit of a failure if it took him more than six months to get a store into the "Green." I learned a huge amount of merchandising and retail strategy from him. Still use many principles he taught. Fond Memories.
