Army WWII, beloved husband of Mary; loving father of Andrew, Debra (Michael) Macchitelli and the late James; dear grandpa of Rena (Anthony) Prengle, Dawn, Kim, David and Edward; great-grandpa of five. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m. from Ewald-Barlock Funeral Home, 2501 N. Southport Ave., Chicago, to St. Josaphat Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. After all these years of you being gone I still miss you more than anything! I think about you every day and miss every thing about you. You´ll always be my hero! There are times I really need you for advice and your input, but then I think I´d know what you would say. I will love you till the day I can be reunited with you and beyond!!!! GRANDPA you are truely the love of my life. You are so cute and so perfect. You know how everyone teases me and tells me that I should have married you! They were so sick of listening to me tell you how cute you were. OH WELL!
I believe that you are an angel. You are my angel! I have always said that. Now everyone else will believe me when they see that you are watching over them from heaven. God couldn't have a better person next to him watching over us. I love you so much. We are all so blessed that you were in our lives. I cant describe more of a perfect man than you. Like I said a million times, you are so cute so perfect and will be missed dearly. I love you tons. I will miss you forever and will think of you every day. I love you papa.

P.S-Thank you for all the potato chips everyday when I was a little girl.

I know the family will miss Walter very much. Debbie spoke of her dad with much love and devotion. Tears of sorrow will be shed here on earth, but in the afterlife, those tears of laughter will be heard again when all are reunited.

Daddy, I hope you know how much I love you. I must have told you that a million times in the past 5 months. You've always been my strenght, without you I don't know where I'd be today. You always thought of us (your kids) first no matter what. Of course after you had grandchild they came first, especially Rena, you two were like 2 peas in a pod.
Your sense of humor was a bit bizzare, but you always had us in tears. We have so many memories of you to share, that mo matter what you will always be with us.
There are places throughout the city you helped build, installing the electrical work, so that everywhere we go, we will see apart of you.
I could go on forever, but I will share the rest of my thoughts verbally to whom ever wants some great laughts.
I'll miss you more than anything or anyone that has ever been in my life, you are truly my night in shinning armor, and I love you with every part of my being, especially my heart and soul.
I'll miss you more than you could ever know!! You were my poopsie then and you will always be my poopsie!!!

An inspiration to many, my Grandfather Walter (my soul's twin) was one of a kind. His sense of humor was like no other, capable of bringing us to tears with his laughter. He was a very generous man who gave without thinking twice. My life will never be the same again. I love you with all that I am - I will miss you more than anyone!
