Dorothy M. Moody Deacon Mick

COLUMBUS: Dorothy M. Mick, 90, of Columbus, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, January 13, 2012, at her residence, from complications after sustaining a fall in her home on December 2, 2011.

She was born July 3, 1921, in Chillicothe, to the late Charles and Hazel Holdren Moody.

Surviving are daughters, Janice (Deacon) Doles Laking, Columbus and Deloris (Deacon) Burson Bessegato, Groveport, OH; a stepson, Joey Mick, Chillicothe; a sister, Mary Miller, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Daniel (Carolyn) Doles, CA., Mark (Deanna) Doles, Columbus, Rochelle (Todd) Menningen, Pickerington, Susan (Stan) Angle, Reynoldsburg, Matthew (Angie) Burson, Westerville, Brenda (Doug) King and Donald (Lynn) Laking, Jr., Toronto, Canada; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Letty and Jan Moody; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Charles W. Deacon, in 1964 and Larry J. Mick, in 2004; a grandson, Thomas E. Doles, Jr.; a great-grandson, Jason Harvey; brothers, Clyde, William, Kenneth and Charles "Pete" Moody; sisters, Geneva Carroll and Bernice Hicks.

Dorothy's love of life was her home, flowers, cooking and baking. She loved the Lord and taught Sunday School for many years.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012, in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Coyt Carroll, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Wares from to 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
