BOYD - Francis "Frank" Henry Kane, 80, of rural Boyd passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Lake Hallie Memory Care, with loved ones by his side.
Frank was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Delmar Township, Cadott, Wis., son of Leo and Margaret (Brunner) Kane.
Frank spent a majority of his adult life running his own logging and construction company. He enjoyed playing softball in local leagues, staying in touch with friends and family in the community, showing off his auctioneering and yodeling skills and singing with local bands. He was an avid card player and enjoyed competing in local Euchre tournaments. His grandchildren were the light of his life and brought many twinkles to his blue eyes.
He will be greatly missed by those who love him.
Frank is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sonja D. (Langel) Kane; and their five children, Francis H. II (Mandy Lee) of Cadott, Christopher D. (Valerie Wisniewski) of Pembine, Wis., Patricia D. Fawcett, Wayde M. (Melissa) Kane and Sarah M. (Kenneth Olson) of Boyd, Wis.; 15 grandchildren, Brady, Brooke, Ethan, Chase, Logan, Molly, Tyler, April, Kelcy, Dominick, Nathaniel, Hailey, Sean, Kasey and Ashley; and one great-grandson, Demitri. He is also survived by five brothers, Paul (Dorothy), Sam (Peggy), Christopher, Patrick and Theodore (Nancy); and four sisters, Grace Weisner, Theresa Jelden, Catherine Roshell and Martha Richards. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Margaret Kane; three brothers, Joseph Peter, John and George; four sisters, Mary Lou, Lucy Delzer, Sr. Rose S.D.S. and Josephine.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with the Rev. Kenneth Schmidt officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Delmar Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the Funeral Home.
