Doris Maxine Rife, 92, of Inverness, FL passed away January 13, 2024 at Arbor Trail Rehab and Nursing Center. Doris was born in Huntington, WV on April 9, 1931 to the late Blanchard and Roma (Dunfee) Nash.
She worked extensively in the medical business world and came to this area in 1972. She and her husband, Ray developed, and constructed Fort Cooper Mobile Home Community. Although she continued to work for years in the medical business field, she eventually became semi-retired and became manager of the Inverness Park in 1998 before she retired in 2014 at the age of 83.
Doris enjoyed golfing and living life to the fullest. She was president for two years of the Lakeside Ladies Association. She also enjoyed dancing and spending time with grandchildren. During their spare time, Doris and Ray traveled extensively in their motor home throughout the United States.
Doris was a charter member of the Inverness Does Drove #232 and held many offices during her membership.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeff (Danelle) Rife of Inverness; 7 grandchildren: Heather Ann Rife, Jeffrey Ray Rife, Jacob Shad Rife, Kristopher Larry Nail II, and Brea Ashley Robertson; Jacqueline Fair, and Cellynn Rife. 10 great-grandchildren: Krista, Kaleb, Logan Vance, Addison and Londyn Rife. Oliver Nail, Ryan, Adam, and Holly Pinney and Alex Rife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Rife on January 31, 2002; 2 sons, Jack and John Rife; her brother, Johnnie Daryl Nash and sister, Iris Prager.
There is a Celebration of Life scheduled on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Ballard from Calvary Chapel along with family members and friends will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City.
