George Kevin Sowers

George Kevin Sowers, 53, of Hernando, FL died peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2015. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 9, 1962 to Joel C. Sowers, Sr. and Mattie Jane (Andrews) Sowers. Kevin grew up in Virginia (Arlington & Leesburg) and was a tractor trailer driver. He resided in Virginia, West Virginia and Florida, returning to Florida in 2007. He had a servant's heart and will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, uncle, father and friend. Kevin is survived by his parents, Mattie Sowers of Winter Park, FL and Joel Sowers of The Villages, FL; a son, Austin Sowers of Hernando, FL; a brother, Joel Sowers, Jr. (Jeannine) of Cullowhee, FL; a sister, Jane S. Huggins (Billyjac) of Orlando, FL; two nephews, Carter Sowers (Lauren) of Asheville, NC and Adam Sowers of Winter Park, FL. Services will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Crematory, Lecanto, FL on Friday, December 4, 2015 where the family will receive friends from 3 PM – 4 PM followed by a memorial service at 4 PM.
