I remember when I was just starting to go to college in 1971 I needed a car but had very little money. Charlie found me a 1963 Chevy Impala for $150. I think he had his eyes on this car for himself, but decided I needed it more. It was the best car I ever had and kept going until 1983. It was just one of many examples of Charlie's kindness to my family. I always remember him fondly.

Charlie was a sweet man, loved his wife and family. He was so friendly with all the neighbors, always a smile and a wave. We lived across the street for 24 years, missed him when we moved. God bless you, Charlie. Deb and Tim

Charlie was a neighbor. A great neighbor. He was sweet and caring and always had a smile. My son cut Charlie's yard for a couple of years, I wanted Devon to learn that when you do good deeds for others that it leaves a wonderful feeling so I ask Charlie if it was ok that Dev cut his grass for free. First Charlie smiled and then said that it wasn't right. Then he got a big smile and said I will take him out for lunch instead. So on the those lunches with Charlie,Devon learned many many valuable lesson in life. Charlie wasn't just a neighbor to us he is family.
Our family sends our deepest condolences. And just know Charlie left us so much better knowing him and we will carry our lessons from Charlie through our lives.

I will never, ever forget Charlie my brother in Christ. His diligence and love and sharing the gospel led me to Christ all those decades ago. He was such a great listener and was always there when I needed to talk. We used to meet nearly every Saturday morning to drink coffee ( White Castles only ), share one another's burdens and share the perfect word of GOD. Charlie used to say to me all the time to simplify my life. He knew that worldly pursuits would draw me away from GOD. He told me often to examine my life so that I could be sure that I was living under the realm of faith. There are many stories that I could tell about all the great things he did for me. He had this PLAQUE hanging up in his office which read " A MAN WRAPPED UP IN HIMSELF MAKES A SMALL PACKAGE". All these decades later though I've many times felt like I just couldn't go on in the faith I kept on fighting because I know that I must fight in order to win the crown of life eternal. Charlie was such a humble servant and indeed was an example of how to live right for GOD. I love you brother and look forward to when we shall meet again in that beautiful city of GOD.

I know how much his family and friends will miss Charlie. My family has known Charlie for 50 years and he was always a great friend to all of us. Truly a man who carried his Christianity into all facets of his life.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.
