Jennifer Carr Obituary
Jennifer Marie "Jenny" (Holtgrewe), age 59, of Cincinnati passed peacefully into heaven surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Originally of Delhi on Cincinnati's west side, Jenny graduated from Seton High School, received her undergraduate degree from Edgecliff College and her Masters of Education from Xavier University. Jenny's talents and gifts were many, but perhaps her greatest was her kindness and compassion for others. She was every child's favorite preschool and kindergarten teacher at The Seven Hills School for more than 30 years. Beyond teaching, Jenny had a passion for learning and a love of life which led her to travel the world. She will be remembered for her love, laughter and a smile that brightened the day of everyone she met. Jenny felt truly blessed by the opportunities and friends in her life. Instead of seeing the glass as only half-full, she truly saw it as overflowing and her positive attitude brought so much joy and happiness into the world. Preceded in death by her father, Wilfrid Holtgrewe; Jenny is survived by her best friend and husband of 37 years, Terence Carr; daughter, Shannon Clark (Brandon); and sons Casey (Angela) and Peter; by her six cherished grandchildren; James, Andrew, Caroline, Mikayla, Katie Scarlett and Abigail; mother Shirley Holtgrewe, brothers Joseph and Patrick and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends to celebrate her life on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 1:00 - 8:00 PM at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45238. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2017 at All Saints Church, 8939 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful friendship, support and care given by so many. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UC Foundation/UC Brain Tumor Center in memory of Jenny Carr.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Terry Carr and both families on Jenny's passing. Though Terry and I grew apart after high school, our time together through grade school and high school spawned multiple moments and events of enormous laughter and joy together. As you've shared those, I share in your pain and wish to express my love and condolences to you and your family at this most trying time. God Bless you.

Our hearts are deeply saddened to learn of Jenny"s battle with cancer . The world has lost a wonderful lady way too soon. We will always remember her kindness to our daughter , Eileen ,
when she and Shannon were in High School at St. Ursula. Her warm smile and contagious laugh will always be how we remember Jenny. She truly brought joy to everyone she met. Any child that was lucky enough to have her as their teacher was truly blessed. We regret that we are unable to attend her Mass as we are out of town at the time.
We will hold you close in thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

My sincerest sympathy for the loss of your dearly beloved. Our loving God read hearts and yearns to cure the emotional stress when someone we love pass away. His loving promises' (Psalms chapter 37, verses 11 & 29) brings hope, joy and provides a measure of peace during times such as these. May all of you find comfort in each other, and in your cherished memories during difficult times!
