Polly Teasley Wax

Highlands - Polly Teasley Wax, age 89, of Highlands, NC, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. A native of Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Olin Alfred Teasley and Pauline Barton Teasley, also of Toccoa, GA. Polly was preceded in death by her husband, BW Wax of Baton Rouge, LA and Highlands, NC; and her sister, Edith Teasley Baxter of Atlanta, GA. BW and Polly met in Toccoa, GA prior to WW II while he was stationed at Camp Currahee. They moved to Highlands in 1956 where they owned and operated Camp Highlander, a summer camp for boys. BW and Polly loved the Highlands community and always considered it their true home.

Loved ones left behind to cherish Polly's memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and John Polhill of Athens, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Lila and Don Porterfield of Clarksville, GA; daughter, Ann Wax of Highlands, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Kay Wax of Asheville, NC; granddaughter, Debbie Holt and her husband, Steve, of Scaly Mtn., NC; grandson, David Head and his wife, Tracy, of Scaly Mtn., NC; granddaughter, Dede Head of Asheville, NC; grandson, Drew Wax and his wife, Rachel, of Asheville, NC; grandson, Cory Wax of Asheville, NC; great grandchildren, Hannah Holt, Jacob Holt, Jeslyn Head, and JD Head of Scaly Mtn., NC; and great grandchildren, Becca Wax and Paul Wax of Asheville, NC.
