Wendi Campbell Badgley

Burnsville - Wendi Campbell Badgley, age 56, of Burnsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Mission Memorial Campus. A native of Harnett County, NC, she was a daughter of Maxine Hopewell Campbell of Dunn, NC and the late David Earl Campbell. She was also a graduate of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. She was a loving wife who cherished motherhood and enjoyed cooking for her family and others. Wendi always looked forward to Easter morning. Not only did she celebrate the resurrection of her Lord, but she took the day to make Easter baskets for several friends and neighbors. When she needed a break she headed to Jekyll Island to walk on the beach and collect sand dollars and shells. During these times and others she spent quiet moments in devotional time with the Lord.

Surviving in addition to her mother is her loving husband, Paul Badgley; sons: Paul Nimon Badgley Jr. and wife, Bailey, of New Bern, NC, Ben Badgley and wife, Rachel, also of New Bern, NC and Vincent Badgley of Johnson City, TN; sisters: Robin Carnley of Wilson, NC and Ronda Reed and husband, Richard, of Hood, VA. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5 in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Higgins Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Craig Bulkeley will officiate. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service in the Academy Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Doug Francis, Tony Harris, Paul Kardulis, Nathan Kardulis, Jim McQueen, Mitchell Sullins, and Ronnie Tipton.
