Louis Ercolani, 90, of Plains Twp. and formerly of Bear Creek Twp., passed away Monday morning, Jan. 30, 2023, in the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born Aug. 24, 1932, in Isola, Perugia, Italy, he was the son of the late Tito and Emilia Ercolani. Louis immigrated to the United States at the age of 14, settling in Plains Twp. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of corporal. He was employed as a union carpenter for many years until his retirement.
Lou was a wonderful bowler, bowling a 300 game, was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mario Ercolani; and his sister, Irma Ribacchi.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, the former Shirley Rodeghiero, Plains Twp.; daughter, Cindy Olshemski and her husband, Dr. Frank Olshemski, Shavertown; sons, Louis Ercolani Jr. and his wife, Sharon, Downingtown; Lee Ercolani, Danville; and Carl Ercolani, Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Stephen and Maddie Olshemski; Gaby McKain; Sara, Dana, Eric and Joshua Ercolani; and nieces and nephews.
Louis' family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aides and staff at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center for the wonderful care and compassion given to Louis.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Therese's Church, 64 Davis St., Shavertown, with the Rev. James J. Paisley, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Wyoming. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time.
