Jane, and Lauren & Michael, I've never had the pleasure of meeting you (the longest & REAL Loves of Mike's life!), but I knew Mike, very well, years ago. And my husband (ALSO named Mike), knew OF him. I'll never forget, the morning of March 29, when he told me "I think your old boyfriend Mike Costanza is in the obituaries!!!" -- I don't know the circumstances of Mike's passing, but I knew that his mom Josie passed in early 2009, so it was an EXTRA shock, to see MIKE's picture there!!! --and at such a young age! I had the privilege to know (and love!) Mike, when we were in our late teens, he being 18, me 19, that summer we met at my job at a hotdog/ice cream stand on the OCNJ boardwalk. (His summer job at the time, was working on a garbage truck.) Although I lived in Lancaster, PA with my parents, my mom & I spent all of my summers in OC with my aunt & uncle. Mike & I went "steady" for awhile; We'd go to the beach, the boardwalk, on dinner dates, & sometimes to his friend Ed Powers' mom's house, where Mike would bring us beer ...(even though we were both underage and I then hated beer!) I'd sometimes go to the ballpark in OC to watch him play baseball (& I dislike sports), he'd come to Lanc. to visit me (& my parents), I visited him at the Univ. of Scranton (we saw the band "Sha-Na-Na"). Due to the distance & him being in college, we dated when we could, but after several years of back-and-forth, we eventually drifted apart, but stayed friends. Many years later, I moved to York, PA. He was coming to York to play in a baseball game, & he called my aunt for my phone# and we went out, w/some of my friends. I knew he had gone to (& graduated from) Stockton; (At the time, I had never heard of Stockton, so I still always think of him, when I hear of that college). I knew Mike's family, & a few times stopped to say hello to them, when in OC. Although I always knew Mike was a wonderful guy, I was surprised at all the organizations he was in! It looked like he had a heckuva full life, with them, in addition to his wonderful family life with you! He was lucky to have had you, Jane (34 yrs.!!) and two children too! Wow!!! Mike was a lucky & blessed man!! My heartfelt condolences to you (and to ALL of his family!), on the loss of your beloved husband & father, as well as brother & son-in-law, -and FRIEND to MANY. This July 18, I will "toast" Mike on his bday; what would have been his 60th.

Wow! What a guy Michael was. He was one of the greatest HSHS students to ever graduate from our high school.

I have many fond memories of Mike that remain to this day. He will always be remembered by all of us who knew and loved him. He was in all my classes at Holy Spirit and I can see him making everyone laugh throughout the day.

May he rest in peace with our Lord and Savior and all the saints in Heaven.

My prayers are with Michael's family.

We sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was a great man. We were lucky to be his neighbor in Ocean City. He always had a smile on his face and was up for good conversation with friends and family, especially at the many cookouts in the backyard. We will miss him very much.
