Scott Irving Alexander, 75, of Sweet Valley, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late James and Marian Jean Alexander and was a graduate of Dallas High School, second in his Class of 1966.
Scott studied metallurgical engineering at Lehigh University, where he established lifelong friendships, graduating in 1970. Upon graduation, he was hired by RCA and spent 25 years in over 15 locations and in Europe. After retiring from RCA, he spent his last working years in New York City with Verizon.
Scott was an accomplished pianist, playing everything from classical music to blues and jazz with his own band. Additionally, Scott was an avid outdoorsman, having climbed, hiked and camped in every state in the U.S. (except Hawaii). He also enjoyed hundreds of hours boating on the St. Lawrence River. Finally - cooking and making bread … that was a passion for everyday or special occasions for friends and family. Since 1983, Scott made Sweet Valley his home base regardless of where he was working.
Scott is survived by his wife, the former Lois Attalla, at home; sister, Leslie Drayer and her husband, Jan; niece, Leah Cook and her husband, Jose; nephew, Jon Drayer and his wife, Natalie; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Isaac, Isabelle, Ezekiel, Kennedy, Peyton and Cameron.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
If so inclined, donations can be made in Scott's memory to Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Sweet Valley, PA 18656 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

I only knew Scott for a short period of time in High School, but he was a wonderful person and my prayers and condolences go out Lois and his family.

We have known Scott nearly our entire lives. One can only marvel at his many accomplishments! You could count on Scott for the latest and greatest technology to the barometric pressure of the day. To be in Scott´s company you could experience his quick wit and quirky laugh. Scott was the quintessential gentleman with tons of class. On his adventurous side we loved hearing about the boat cruising around Alex Bay on the St. Lawrence and trek across the pond to Belgium. This and much more with his "one true love" , Lois! One special relationship we could envy. They did it their way! Scott´s passing is a tragic loss to his family, friends, and community. Scott Alexander was one of a kind and will be truly truly missed.

I met Scott in 1992. We had been neighbors since 1994. And I can tell you this.....Scott was as honest a man as there ever was. No one could possibly have a better neighbor or friend. If you knew Scott, you knew he would always have your back. Of course, he was also there to engage in a lively conversation, reminisce great stories, and share libations. I am so grateful to have shared a friendship with him.

I had known Scott most of his life, from a fledging wrestler to a world class businessman, and will feel the great loss of this man. My thoughts and prayers extend to Lois and his family. An educated engineer, Scott was accomplished, inquisitive and forever analytical. He was fervently patriotic and was truly, all-American. He will be missed by all who called him friend.
