Barbara Rapoza Obituary

Barbara Rapoza, 66, of Osage City, left this world on November 30, 2012 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born on July 18, 1946 in Quinter, Kansas, the eldest daughter of George August and Edna Marie (Scheck) Knoll. Barbara was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, knitting, crocheting and cooking. Barbara was a loving wife, sister and most of all a loving mother. She married Edward Junior Rapoza in Topeka. He survives. She is also survived by her children, Kevin, Marla, Michelle and Theresa, her stepchildren, Buddy, Chad and Renee, a sister, Mary Ortega, and a brother, George Knoll. She was also a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She will be missed immensely. She will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Church at S.W. 8th and Jackson in Topeka. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603. George and Rapoza family, I would have been at her funeral. She was a very nice lady I met at her mothers funeral. So sorry in this life to loose someone you Love but to give Barbara to her eternal Love puts a smile on all our faces and if we ever needed Faith it would be now. The JOY of the Lord is our strength and we need Grace thru these times. Thank you Jesus we need the Power of ur name and we need Jesus' strength. I will keep u in my thoughts and Prayers keep believing in Jesus as we r born to Almighty God. God Bless you All.

Barbara was a sweet, sweet lady and will be missed. My condolences to the family. Teresa and Edward, I know that Barbara is in a better place, the Home where she longed to be. I am so sorry that I won't be able to be there for her services, but I am out of town. My thoughts are with you all.
