Dorothy Woodruff Obituary

LYNDON Dorothy I. Woodruff, 80, of Lyndon, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at her home in Lyndon. She was born Feb. 23, 1925, in Michigan Valley, to Earl and Helen Dickerhoof Goldsmith. She had lived her life within or east of the Lyndon community. She graduated from Lyndon High School in 1943. She had been a homemaker and had worked as a school cook in the Lyndon schools. She was a member of Vassar United Methodist Women and Lyndon United Methodist Church. She married Henry Arthur Woodruff on Feb. 23, 1944, in Lyndon. She preceded her in death on May 5, 1997. Survivors include two sons, Stephen D. Woodruff, Fort Lupton, Colo., and Kevin L. Woodruff, Auburn; four daughters, Lila J. Keim, Fernandina Beach, Fla., Rebecca S. Thill, Lyndon, Sandra K. Poston, Topeka, and Nancy J. Kelso, Porter, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lyndon United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Vassar Cemetery. Mrs. Woodruff will lie in state from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Feltner Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Lyndon United Methodist Church.
