I spent many a great day with LJ and will miss him. I tried to find him a few times and regret I was in Houston while he was sick. He was a great guy and a great friend. Steve Trotter

Although I lost contact with L.J. over the years, I still cherish the friendship we shared when I lived in Clear Lake City. He will always remain a special friend to me, a sensitive, caring man who greatly influenced the course of my life and taught me so much in the short time I knew him.
A friend. . .

L.J. was a great guy, good friend and neighbor for many years. I have a lot of good memories, especially playing ball longer than we should have. He will be missed by many.

L.J. will be missed by his college teammates and friends who got to know him again in recent years. He told me a couple of years ago that some years earlier he had returned to the Christian faith of his childhood and was in regular attendance at his local Assembly of God church. His support of another teammate stricken with ALS was amazing as he made several trips from Houston to Kansas to support him even while undergoing cancer therapy himself. My visit with him in Houston last Spring revealed more of his generosity and desire to help others. His relationship with Jesus was quite apparent. We miss him, but we have joy in the legacy of hope he has left us.

L.J. was my first friend, and my best friend. I will miss him dearly. He made it to our 50th wedding anniversary, and I had no idea this would happen so sudden. Thank God I was able to visit with him and his family. God's Peace be with you L.J. and your Family.

L.J. was just such a good guy. My husband worked with him for years, and he sort of took me under his wing when I first started out at NASA, and he was always so congenial, and looking out for the troops and the younger folks, never concerned with himself. Just a good guy, a friend, and a pleasure to know.

What a joy to have known L.J. and to have worked with him for many years at NASA on the Space Shuttle Program. He was my mentor and friend. He loved you, his family, and you should take pride in knowing what an honest and good man he was. I am blessed to have fond memories of L.J.
