This makes me so sad. I first met Shirley when I was a new Girl Scout Leader and did my outdoor training with her at Camp Daisy back in the late 90's. Over the course of the next 12 years she taught me so much and always had that welcoming smile and enthusiasm at all the Girl Scout events such as our SU meetings, cookie training and pick up sites, awards banquets, and the list goes on and on. Just remembering all those times brings a smile to my face. Prayers and hugs to you, Kim, and all of your family.

In addition to being a friend to all and a sister to every Girl Scout Shirley represented the heart and hands of Kaw Valley Council. Always caring and compassionate, she was ready and willing to pitch in when there was a job to do. Her knowledge of techniques and stockpile of equipment paved the trail to a successful camp out. My deepest condolences to Kim and the family.

I wouldn't have been a girl scout leader for 30 yrs if not for all of the mentoring Shirely gave me in the beginning. She was a true sister to every scout.
