Arnold Randolph Schwartz, age 81 of Speedwell, passed away October 2, 2014. He also resided in in Phelps, Kentucky. He was born Oct. 31, 1932, to the late Frank & Gertrude Richardson Schwartz. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, James, William "Bill" & Donald Schwartz; sister, Ethel Peck; stepson, Anthony D. Brewer and grandson, Wesley Schwartz. Arnold was a member of Haynes Flat Baptist Church, a charter member of Phelps Kiwanis Club, a Mason, a Shriner and an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include: Wife, Ann Hunley Schwartz of Speedwell. Sons, Wendell (& Gidge) Schwartz of Phelps, Kentucky, & Ashley Schwartz of Speedwell. Daughter Lisa Jo (& Brian) Justice of Kimper, Kentucky. Brothers, Teddy Schwartz of Roanoke, Virginia, & Paul (& Roberta) Schwartz of Bean Station. Sister, Carol Leffingwell of Chesapeake, Ohio. Ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral service was 7 p.m. Saturday at Reece Valley Chapel with Rev. Travis Dunn officiating. Visitation 5-7. Burial 10 a.m. Sunday at Campbell Memorial Gardens in Jacksboro. Pallbearers: Wendell Schwartz, Ashley Schwartz, Brian Justice, Raymond Hurley, Bob Hunley, Travis Michael Brewer. Honorary pallbearers: Tom Hunley, Scotty Justice, Paul Schwartz and Jordan Justice.
