Mary Bonner Obituary
Ridgeland - Mary Catherine Comfort Bonner passed away on June 6th, 2018 in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Mrs. Bonner was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi to Alvin Comfort and Karrie Sue Comfort on February 21, 1933. She attended Mississippi State University where she majored in Microbiology and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. In her last year at MSU she met Smith Bonner, the love of her life. They were happily married for 58 years. Her love of science remained with her throughout her life. The highlight of her career was running the infectious disease lab at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
She is preceded in death by her husband, S. Smith Bonner. She is survived by her sister Martha Clegg (Swinon) of Columbus, Mississippi, Frances Durham (Tommy) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her children Julie C. Bonner of Austin, Texas , Jeff S. Bonner (Karen) of Madison, Mississippi, Mary Virginia Richards (Burton) of Austin, TX, and her five grandchildren, Zachary M. Bonner (Laci) of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Jordan E. Bellquist, Julia E. Bellquist, Anna Richards, and Benjamin Richards all of Austin, Texas, and her grandson, Bowen Bonner, of Ridgeland Mississippi.
A grave side service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday June 9th, 2018 at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
