Robert Tex McCoy

Robert Tex McCoy, 74, passed away at his home in Flora after a lengthy battle with cancer on Friday, October 24, 2008. He died surrounded by his children and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 26, 2008, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 27, 2008, at 11 o'clock at the Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland.
Tex was born in Canton in 1934 to Sadie and James B. McCoy. He married Pearl Eloise Gaughf of Ridgeland in 1952 and they were blessed with 5 children. He was employed with the McCarty-Holman Company for 43 years as a manager, both in Canton and Hazlehurst. He retired in 1995 to do what he loved most, fishing and hunting. He always said he had two loves in his life, his wife, and his children.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Eloise McCoy; children, Charlotte and Bobby Brown of Flora, Cheryl and Gary Stringer of Ridgeland, Mike McCoy of Pocahontas, Ken and Lauren McCoy of Madison, and Heath and Andrea McCoy of Flora. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Renee Brown Sumlin, Aimee Brown, Landon McCoy, Ashton McCoy, Matt McCoy, Megan McCoy, Ryan McCoy; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Cade Sumlin; sister, Mona Wilson of Panama City, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
