William C. Duckworth

William C. Duckworth, 94, of Madison, MS, entered into Heaven on Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, in Magee. Visitation will be at Colonial Chapel Magee from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and graveside service will immediately follow at the Magee City Cemetery.

Mr. Duckworth loved his family and was faithful to his wife, Elaine Myers who preceded him in death. He served his country honorably in World War II. He was a dedicated employee of Bell South. He was a devoted Dad, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather. He was a loyal and trusted servant to God, his family, his country, and his vast number of friends.

Mr. Duckworth is survived by his three sons: William Duckworth and wife Gwen of Lumberton, MS; Dr. James Duckworth and wife Sarah of Huntsville, AL; and Ronald Duckworth and wife Hallie of Madison, MS. His grandchildren are Tara Milam and husband Randy of Kingwood, TX; Stephanie Glazener and husband Robert of Williamsburg, VA; Jeffrey Duckworth and wife Brandy of Athens, GA; Michael Duckworth of Orange, CA; William Duckworth of Pearl, MS; and Ford Thomas of Madison, MS. His great grandchildren are Tiffany Gragg and husband Brandon; Brittany and Brandi Milam, and Elizabeth and David Glazener. Great-great grandchildren are Isabella and Ava Gragg. His brother is Hugh Duckworth of Mt. Olive, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents Enoch James and Lura Burns Duckworth; brother, Cecil, Leonard, Kenneth, Winston, and Irl Duckworth and sister, Dorothy Ferguson.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Jackson, MS and Hillcrest Baptist of Byram, MS

Duckworth family we are so sorry for your loss. I remember coming to your home while my dad would repair your TV. Then we grad. from school together. Did not know if you knew but I was named after your Mom.
Prayers are with you during this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you...Mr. Duckworth was a wonderful man and I have fond memories of him as I was growing up in Jackson.

We have precious memories of the entire Duckworth family who were the best neighbors anyone could ever have! We have missed being in contact with you in recent years but cherish those good times and will always remember what a wonderful family we were privileged to know.
