WILL RUSSELL ELLIS Mr. Will Russell Ellis, a resident of Georgetown, Georgia passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence. He was 85 years old. Funeral services were held Monday, August 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time at Georgetown Baptist Church in Georgetown, Georgia. Burial followed in the Georgetown Cemetery. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association-225 N. Michigan Ave. Fl. 17 Chicago, IL 60601 or to a charity of your choice. Will was born October 14, 1937, in Clay County, Georgia, to the late George Evan and Johnnie Whitfield Beard Ellis. He was employed most of his life with the family business as a farmer and logger and later worked as the Road Superintendent for Quitman County. Will was a hard worker and loved his job, he also enjoyed farming, cattle, and meeting his friends for coffee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Georgetown Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, George W., John E., Loren D., Thomas, Robert A., Seab J., and William E.; six sisters, Effie, Eva, Ileane, Nora, Florine, and Norene. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara Ann Jones Ellis; three sons, Jimmy W. Ellis of Georgetown, Georgia, Jeff A. Ellis (Tammy) of Northport, Alabama, and Russell E. Ellis (Trudy) of Dothan, Alabama; four grandchildren, Emily Ellis, Lindsey Ellis, Trent Fondren, and Tyler Fondren; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver who served faithfully for eleven years, Bernice Harris. Asked to serve as pallbearers were Jeff Ellis, Russell Ellis, Jack Ellis, Jimmy Ellis, Rome Ethredge, Kenneth Chance, and Ronnie Jones. The family would like to thank Nicole, Rebecca, Marilyn, Tonya, and Whitney with Gentiva Hospice for the care and love they all have shown.
