Alice Esther Andersen Plummer

Alice Esther Andersen Plummer was born on the family farm near Blair, Nebraska to Christian and Marie Anntoinette Andersen on March 16,1932. She passed away on July 28, 2024 at Brookstone Acres in Columbus. She was baptized in the Christian faith as a child and confirmed in the faith on August 7th1949 at First Lutheran Church in Blair, Nebraska. She graduated from Blair High School in Blair, Nebraska. She married Wallace Plummer on October 25, 1952. They were married for 65 years. They were blessed with two sons and three daughters.
Alice attended barber school and worked as a barber and other various jobs throughout her lifetime including nurses aid, assistant to several chiropractors and at a bridal shop. Alice was a very creative crafter with quilting being her favorite.
Alice is survived by her son, Dean (Joan) from Columbus, Nebraska and three granddaughters: Jessica (Reed) Wilke of Parker, Colorado, Rachel (Jeremy) Deutsch of Wichita, Kansas, and Sarah (Quinn) Hueschen of Castle Rock, Colorado; daughter, Sheila Jansen of Omaha, Nebraska; and daughter Patricia (Jan) Huff of Papillion, Nebraska and granddaughter Jennifer and grandson James of Omaha, Nebraska. Michelle Conroy (daughter in law) of Omaha, Nebraska and two granddaughters Megan (Joshua) McCormack and Katelin Conroy of Omaha, Nebraska. She also has 7 great-granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons. She is survived by one sister, Helen, and two brothers, Duane and Dale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Claire, husband, Wallace, son Gordon, and daughter Robin. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
The visitation will be at Campell Aman Funeral Home 444 S. 17th Street Blair, Nebraska on August 1, 2024, from 5-7 pm. Her funeral will be August 2, 2024, at 10:30am at Peace Lutheran Church 2720 28th St in Columbus, NE 68601. The internment will take place in the Blair, Nebraska cemetery. Memorials are requested for Peace Lutheran Comfort Dog Ministry.
