My deepest sympathy to the Beard family. I worked with Rickey for several years while I trained as a radiology resident at the VA hospital. You could not ask for a better c-worker. He was a great help to my practice and went to the prison weekly to service those incarcerated. I only discovered that he passed today, but he will be remembered as a strong and compassionate man who knew that he was blessed.

Rickey, a very nice person who ALWAYS had a warm smile/greeting even when he was very ill. I appreciate you taking time and being a good friend to my dad, Roman J. Stewart. We will miss you very much. Now you are with the other angels watching down on us.

I so deeply regret I did not keep in touch over the years. Nevertheless, you will always be in my heart. My memory of your friendship and kindness is eternal. I too shall miss you. Rest in peace my dear friend. See you in the morning as God himself will greet us.
Family, you are in my prayers. Know that I weep with you. Let us remember "...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:5

Ricky Beard was a huge inspiration to me, the staff, and patients that he provided services for at Staff Builders. He was always smiling and happy. He took care of the guys that were quadraplegics or paraplegics that were veterans. He took care of those guys the same way he would if it had been himself. He was an awesome man! He will always be loved and remembered for his compassion and the care he provided!
