My name is Robin, I'm a very long time friend of Brenda Kern, Andrew's aunt. I never met Andrew, but I know this family as a God loving, close family. I cannot imagine the hurt they are going through right now but I know they will get through it with God's love. We can't begin to understand these losses but we have to get up each day and love Him and love each other. All of Andrew's family are in my prayers, I pray you find peace and strength. Much love to you all.

We have loved the Kern family since our first meeting many years ago in Topeka, KS, and we have walked with them through many joys and sorrows. We did not know Andrew, but we do know his dear mother, Tina, and share her sorrow.
We are so saddened to hear of Andrew’s unexpected passing, but we take and offer comfort in knowing that Jesus loved and cared for Andrew, and He loves and shares the grief of his family and loved ones.
We extend our condolences and prayers for comfort and the peace that surpasses understanding.

Hi, I'm Brenda Kern, one of Andrew's aunts.
When Andrew was a little boy, he loved dinosaurs, sword fights, and army men, not necessarily in that order.
The photo above is my favorite of all of Andrew's school photos. I've always assumed that he was pretending to be a fierce animal of some kind, maybe a tiger.
We love Andrew and will miss him terribly, of course, but go, Tiger. Go on ahead. We'll let you go and catch up with you later.

I always enjoyed working with Andrew in Kids Corner at church. He loved doing the puppets along with Ian. He had a monotone voice that the kids in the audience would laugh about and Ian and I would would be laughing behind the curtain. He loved doing it and would always volunteer to help. We will miss you Andrew may you find some comfort ❤

I am Andrew's aunt, and I loved him dearly. I remember him as a kind and gentle young man. My favorite memory is from when he was a little boy of 5 or 6. We were at a family gathering and my husband Robbie and I took turns throughout the weekend running home to let the dogs out. On one of my trips, Andrew and his young cousins Karson, Kaden, and Karter begged to go with me so they could play with the dogs. When we got there, Karson and Karter ran around the yard chasing the dogs, trying to get them to play. Andrew and Kaden sat together quietly on the deck and waited for the dogs to come to them. Soon they all did, and the boys loved on them gently. I was struck in that moment by Andrew and Kaden's gentle nature.
Andrew's gentleness remained throughout his life, and he always loved animals and his family. I miss Andrew so much, and I know everyone is hurting, but I pray there is also peace in the knowledge that he is with our Father. Much love to all.

JAMES BELL

My name is James Bell, and I am the father of Brandon Bell. Brandon is Andrew's brother in law. I met Andrew on a few occasions and he certainly was a very nice young man. I especially remember the time when Andrew's family and my family were together in Bourbonnais Illinois. This was a special day as this was the day that Brandon proposed to Cassie. We all went for a walk at the Indian Caves On Perry Farms. The area was in a small wooded area and had lots of large rock formations all over the place. https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/illinois/indian-caves-il/
I admired Andrew's sense of adventure as he climbed all over these rocks and conquered the terrain. For a moment, I wished I had the sense of adventure that this young man had. Attached you will see the photo of Cassie hugging her brother as the family celebrated the engagement. My family is deeply saddened by the passing of Andrew. We are praying for you.

With deep sympathy, I am very sorry for your loss. I knew Andrew just a little at work for a few months. He was a good worker and kind to residents. What a shock and loss.
