James Bapple Obituary
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Marie Bapple; his sons, James "Jay" Bapple III (Dorothy), of Fredericksburg, V.A. and Tom Bapple of Wake Forest, N.C.; stepson, Roger Hutchins (Liz),of Canaan, M.E.; his step-daughter ,Susan Hutchins-Greene (Michael), of Deerfield, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Merle and Naomi Bapple; his sisters Phyllis King, Alice Harrison and Doris Bapple, and his son, John.
Born in Sedalia, Missouri on June 30, 1925, Jim served in the US Navy during WWII as an electronics technician in the Battle of the Atlantic aboard the Tecumseh, a sea-going tug. Following the war, Jim served in various positions in the fast growing telephone industry in California. Before joining Northeast Electronics (Nortel), Jim was the Telephone Engineer for Riverside County. He worked for Northeast Electronics for 22 years, retiring in 1989.
Jim was a faithful member of the Advent Christian Church in Northwood. He was a life Member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers Association, a member of Toastmasters, the Rotary Club and a Institutional Representative of the Boy Scouts of America for many years in Riverside, California.
A celebration of Jim's life will take place on Saturday, September 13 at 1 p.m. in the Advent Christian Church, 113 School Street, Northwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Advent Christian Church, PO Box 115, Northwood, NH 03261, in memory of Jim.
