Julia Elizabeth "Judy" Tasker

1942 - 2016

Julia "Judy" Elizabeth (Babb) Tasker, 73, a longtime resident of Concord, passed away peacefully in her sleep July 24, 2016, at Harris Hill Nursing Home surrounded by family after a long illness.

Julia was born Aug. 15, 1942, to William Babb and Cristabel Chamberlain in Concord. She was a graduate of Concord High School and upon graduation, she worked at Britts Department Store for several years, where she met the love of her life. On Feb. 29, 1962, she married Milton S. Tasker, and they settled in Concord where she stayed home and raised there three children.

Julia enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time at the ocean and taking trips with her sisters. Her happiest times were when she was surrounded by family and friends.

Julia is survived by her husband, Milton Tasker, daughters, Linda Elkins and her husband, Russell, of Loudon; Barbara McGahan and her husband, Brendon, of Concord; son, Thomas Tasker and his partner, Gail Skidmore, of Webster, stepson Rick Tasker of Barnstead, and stepdaughter Melanie Ekstrom of Pembroke. She is also survived by sisters Pandora Martel and Liz Westgate and her brother Bud Phillips, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brothers Jim Phillips, Freeman Phillips and William Babb, and sisters Ann Simpson, Winona McGonigle Strobridge, Waneta Goodell and Diane Hodgman.

Friends and family are asked to join in remembering Judy on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 177 N. Main St., Concord. Immediately following the service, there will be a celebration of life luncheon. A private family burial will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
