Lucinda Biese Obituary

PENACOOK – A Celebration of Life for Lucinda (Cindy) T. Biese will be held Sunday, October 5, at 3:30 p.m. at her home church, South Congregational Church, 27 Pleasant St., Concord, where she served on boards, sang in the choir and was a "Shelter Nanny" in the church's facility for the homeless. Cindy volunteered at Merrimack County Probate Court.

Cindy, a longstanding member of the Pemigewasset Choral Society, took part in concerts here and abroad. She participated in the North Country Studio Workshops where she served as secretary and was a patron and occasional performer with the Concord Light Opera Company.

She was a painter and printmaker, exhibiting her work in galleries and art institutions. She wrote short stories and crossword puzzles, which were published. She enjoyed gourmet cooking, jewelry design and all forms of needlecrafts. She loved animals and had a special bond with each of her pets.

She enjoyed her home in Penacook and was a gracious hostess. Cindy traveled for adventure but also to visit family and friends.

She was the patient, loving wife of Dr. Leo P. Biese from 1960 until his death in 1993. Cindy passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014, at Concord Hospital.

Survivors include her brother, Steve Turner and wife, Ann of Honolulu, their children and grandchildren, her sister, Catherine T. (Mrs. Allan Chard) of LaGrange Park, Ill. and her brother, Tom Turner and wife, Brenda of Cheyenne, Wyo. and their children and grandchildren.

Bennett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Messages of condolences may be offered at bennettfuneral.com.

She will be interred next to her parents in Fur Lawn cemetery, Hillsboro, Ore.

My dear friend...I miss you most...still. Sundays are the hardest still! We used to grab a bite to eat or see a movie. We did enjoy simple, quiet times together. I miss you terribly...still.

Our condolences to all the family. We will be away on Oct. 25th. She will be missed. I was in the cast of HMS Pinafore with her last spring. It just shows how fragile life can be. Affectionately, Bob (and Jane) Arata
