Yvonne "Sis" Chapman

1933 - 2016

Yvonne "Sis" Chapman, 82, of Concord, died Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Concord Regional VNA Hospice House after a short period of failing health. Yvonne was born on Sept. 2, 1933, in Concord, daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanette Longchamp. She grew up in Concord and graduated in 1951 from St. John's School. Yvonne was employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 20 years as a Customer Service Supervisor. Later, she became a CNA and worked at Havenwood Heritage Heights Retirement Community and regarded it as her most rewarding work experience.

She loved crocheting blankets, hats, and mittens and donated them to local hospitals, schools, and nursing homes. After retiring, Yvonne remained active with friends enjoying knitting, cribbage, shuffleboard, and card games.

She was pre-deceased by her brother, Robert Harper of Birmingham, Ala.

Survivors include two sisters, Jane Call, wife of the late Charles Call and Julie LaCourse, wife of Dennis LaCourse; five children, Barbara Chapman of Concord, Robert Chapman of Jacksonville, Fla. and his wife, Brenda, Bonnie Watson of Strafford and her husband, Jeff, Brenda Chapman of Penacook and Bret Chapman of Concord and his wife, Doreen; five nieces, one nephew, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life Mass to be held on Friday, August 5, at 10 a.m. The service will be held at Christ the King Parish, 72 South Main St, Concord.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to : Concord Regional VNA Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St, Concord NH 03301, in memory of Yvonne Chapman.

The Cremation Society of NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
