Maria Rosita Eaker Moreland

1948 - 2022

Maria Rosita Eaker Moreland, Born February 6, 1948, in Rome, Italy. Spiritually reborn October 17, 1976, into the Body of Christ. Maria went home to be with the Lord November 14, 2022.

Maria married Charles Moreland on December 6, 1976. She was his partner both in life and in career throughout the rest of her life. Through her encouragement, Charles obtained his law license and she managed their law office for the next 23 years. In 1991, she obtained her degree in accounting and simultaneously developed a tax preparation practice. After Charles was appointed judge in 2009, she continued her tax practice and immigration consulting. She completed the tax return on her last client a month before she died.

More important than her career, was her ministry. Maria along with Charles was involved in children's ministry from 1986 until 2015, first at 1st Baptist Church in Willis, then at The Ark Church in Conroe and finally at The Light Community Fellowship in Willis. She truly loved working with children. Since 2015, she continued to be involved with the ministry at the Light CF and additionally attended and supported La Iglesia Refugio in Willis.

Maria was preceded in death by her father, John Wallis Eaker, her mother Jole Piccoli Eaker, and her sister Diana Eaker. She is survived by her husband, Charles T. Moreland, two sons Joseph Mangiameli and John Mangiameli, three grandchildren, her sister Clotide (Tillie) Eaker, niece Monica McKelvy and nephew Mark McKelvy.

A celebration of Maria's life will be held and the Light Community Fellowship in Willis on December 1, 2022, at 2:00 pm. In lieu flowers, we request that donations in her name be made to either The Light Community Fellowship or La Iglesia Refugio.
