Richard Small Obituary

Richard Small was born in Conroe, Texas on February 19, 1949 to Leroy and Clarice Small. He passed away in his sleep on July 16,2023 after nearly a decade of living with Parkinson's and striving to never get old. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to many. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Tommy and Doug. His legacy lives on with his son, Jason Small (wife Danna) and four grandchildren. He loved sailing and outdoor activities with his family, playing golf and skiing with the GREATEST group of friends, riding his Harley and escorting veterans with the Patriot Guard Riders, serving his country (US Army) and community (Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department), driving sporty cars and making tacky statements. A celebration of life will be held at Lakewood Yacht Club on Friday, August 18th from 4-6 in the Harbor Room. A memorial service will start at 5:00; attendees are invited to honor Richard's love for fun on the water by wearing Hawaiian-style shirts. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Houston Area Parkinson Society.

I am so sorry for your loss and to hear Richard is no longer able to enjoy sharing in the lives of his family. He was such a kind soul and a joy to be around. He often shared stories of enjoying time with his family and grandkids - I know he was well loved and will be missed tremendously!!
