Dear Grandpa,

I loved you so very much. I know I wasn't the best granddaughter but I did love you & always thought you were so feisty & fun. We always enjoyed coming over Sundays for dinner. I love that you would make so much food (enough for an army) & become quite perturbed if we didn't have 3+ helpings. I also loved how important it was to you to make sure everyone else was enjoying themselves. You took great pride in watching your family enjoy the food you cooked for them. You usually never sat down to eat until everyone else was almost finished. You enjoyed your family & your life very much. That is something I feel I have learned from you. I admire your love for life even when times were tough you kept going for the other people around you. I suppose my fondest memories with you will be cooking in your kitchen & finally getting to make YOU a meal. I will never forget when you took a bite of the pasta & sauce I made & looked at me in amazement & said "wow, this is not bad!" Because I knew that meant you thought it was delicious. I am going to miss your sarcasm & wit so much. I just hope now you are catching up with mom, Elda, Christopher & everyone else who left this world. I look forward to eating an Italian meal with you & everyone else again in Heaven one day. I love you always & will miss you dearly! God bless!

My Dear Uncle,

All the fond memories and warm sentiments people have recalled and written about you, you might think there is nothing else to add. Jack and I have special moments of our own that we have shared with you that make us laugh, cry and shake our heads in amazement. So many people of many generations have gathered for you who you have shared special time with. It has been said that the number of friends a man has is a mark of his greatness. I am not sure this is a mark of a great man but I know this is what happens when a man is good.

Cathey, Howard and I send our sympathies to you and your family. It has been a long time since I saw your dad, the last time ....Phyllis' funeral. I have some fun memories from times at your house when we were kids....remember helping your dad 'candle' the eggs? My first trip to NY was with your family. Lots of good memories with a fun family. I am sure you will all miss him.....If I were in NJ ...I would be there.....love to y'all. Kathie

Dear Uncle Sam, It is hard for me to express in words what you meant to me and also to Carmine. You were my second Dad, we enjoyed every minute we were with you and have very loving memories to remember you always. All the various things we did together and there were many which I am grateful. I will bring up one here. You showed us how to make your famous tomato sauce. We started with a shopping trip to buy all the ingredients returned home opened a bottle of wine and you supervising Carmine while he made the sauce. And the best part was eating the meal with the sauce, pasta, wine and of course all of us together. Every time we make it in the future it will bring back fond memories. We love you and you will always be with us.

Sal, when I think of all the good times we had together I can't help but to smile. Our trips to the produce market, our rides to the doctors and how could I ever forget our moments together visiting Elda in the nursing home. You guys always made me feel like I was family. For that I say thank you. Im so happy to know that you are with Elda now. I now have another angel to watch over me :). You will be truly missed. Love you always, Genevieve

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
