Stephen Archer Williams, age 66 of Carmichael, CA passed away September 7th.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Educated in Cherry Hill, NJ, public schools, graduating from Cherry Hill High School West in 1968. Worked at Campbell Soup Co., married and started a family in 1970. Steve then worked at Union Carbide (researcher) and attended Camden County College and Rutgers Univ. In 1974 moved to California, settling in the Sacramento area. He earned a degree in public administration from California State University, Sacramento. He worked for Aerojet (chemist), for the State of California as ombudsman (Senior Advocacy Services), in earthquake relief (Individual and Family Grant Program (IFGP, OES)), and the Employment Development Department, and was a substitute teacher in the Twin Rivers Unified School District, teaching math, science and music. A talented musician-composer, he played keyboards and managed the Sacramento Blues Festival.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph S. and Catherine V. (nee Archer) Williams, Sr., he is survived by his companion, Philene M. Derdowski, daughter Susan L. Cordova, son Stephen J. Williams, grandson Andrew Cordova, granddaughters Olivia Cordova, Kaitlin Johnson-Williams, Brooklyn Johnson-Williams, Lillian Johnson-Williams, and Anabelle Cordova, brother Joseph S. Williams, Jr., sisters Carolyn C. Williams and Francine E. Grier, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more family.

His funeral and interment were in Fair Oaks, Calif. Memorial service will be Sat., Oct. 8 at Trinity Episcopal "Old Swedes" Church, 1208 Kings Hwy, Swedesboro, NJ, 08085. Family greeting from 10 am to 11 am, service at 11.
